The Muonionalusta Meteorite
Central to the MAISON GALACTIQUE collection is the inclusion of the Muonionalusta meteorite, an ancient celestial body that impacted Earth over a million years ago. Discovered beneath two meters of sediment in Muonionalusta, Sweden, this meteorite is classified as a type IVA iron meteorite, representing a mere 10% of all known meteorites. It is distinguished by the Widmanstätten pattern, a unique crystalline structure of iron-nickel alloys, and contains the rare mineral Stishovite, a super-quartz believed by some to possess unique properties. Each meteorite fragment in the collection undergoes precision cutting, beveling, etching, and is electroplated with platinum and silver, transforming it into a wearable piece of the universe.
