To mark its 30th anniversary, FACE A FACE has released two commemorative sunglasses that embody the brand’s deep connection to artistic expression, structure, and color. The new models, FACES 1 and FACES 2, reflect the journey and future of the brand.

The Design Behind The Frames

FACES 1 and FACES 2 feature a mirrored “F” motif—one that becomes visible depending on the angle from which the frame is viewed. This motif isn’t just graphic; it symbolizes reflection, duality, and the blending of identity. The design integrates the “F” shape not only as a face-front feature but also as a dimensional form that reveals itself from the side profile, creating a layered viewing experience.

FACES 1 is available in four bold colorways, while FACES 2 is offered in five. Each colorway blends hues using layered acetates that create visual depth.

Jessica Poundstone’s Influence

FACE A FACE collaborated with American artist Jessica Poundstone to bring this concept to life. Known for her digital color studies, Poundstone creates visual art that focuses on how color influences emotion and perception. Her influence is clear in the FACES collection, where each colorway channels her approach to layering and light interaction.

The acetates in FACES 1 and FACES 2 behave like pieces of digital art, shifting subtly depending on how light hits them and how the viewer observes them. The color design evokes the effect of risograph printing—soft overlaps and rich contrasts that appear both vibrant and softened at once.
