To mark what would have been Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday, DITA has introduced the MM.100—a limited-edition sunglasses frame designed to honor her legacy. The frame draws on Monroe’s lasting influence on fashion and film, combining familiar elements of old Hollywood with modern craftsmanship.

A Classic Shape with Subtle Details

The MM.100 is built around a sculpted cat-eye shape, a style long associated with Monroe. DITA has updated the silhouette with sharp angles and skived surface details that give the frame more structure and depth. Inside the acetate frame, a custom wire core mimics the look of diamonds—referencing one of Monroe’s most iconic lines from the song “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.”

Made in Japan from Premium Acetate

Every pair of MM.100 sunglasses is made in Japan using high-quality Japanese acetate. The frame is handcraftedand while DITA is known for its attention to detail, the MM.100 stands out for its combination of material quality and symbolic design choices, all of which serve to reinforce the connection to Monroe.

Four Colorways, Four Different Moods

The MM.100 is available in four color options:

Dreamy Red Swirl

Khaki Crystal

Black

Satin Apricot.

Special Packaging for a Special Frame

The frame is presented in a magnetic DITA box and comes with a microfiber soft case. It also includes a custom 100th anniversary cleaning cloth made specifically for this release. These small additions help emphasize the frame’s limited-edition status and make it a more complete keepsake.
